Beautiful Bauhaus desk lamp / notary lamp by BUR, Germany. Circa: 1920
This lamp was made in the art deco period where the influence of Bauhaus is evident. The lamp has a rotating enamel green shade. The base is made of cast iron, Black in color and rotatable. Good condition .

In 1880 in Frankfurt am main the company Bunte und Remmler (BUR) was founded by Victor Bünte and Franz Remmler. As a manufacturer of oil and gas lamps, they were the largest manufacturer of luminaires in Germany until the 1st World War. In the 1920s and 1930s, the company was one of the pioneers of the modern styling and technical design of Bauhaus. Wilhelm Wagenfeld and Christian Dell, among others, designed lamps for BUR and made the designs timeless.
